JVC Mobile enters dashcam market

JVC Mobile is entering the dashcam market with a sub-$100 model that it hopes will bring JVC’s camera reputation to the automobile.

The dashcam comes with WiFi capability, GPS, and wide angle lens plus it ships with a 16GB microSD card.  Called the KV-DR305W it offers Full HD (1920 x 1080) recording.

“JVC is a well-known name in the camera industry…” said Ron Trout, Director of Sales.“ As JVC Mobile Entertainment now enters into the booming dashcam market, we can continue to build on this legacy in the in-vehicle environment.”

Or users can remove the SD card for viewing on a computer (with JVC Route Watcher software).

It captures over 2 million pixels at 30fps (frames per second) and uses WDR technology (which helps to reduce headlight glare or shadows) plus a F2.0 wide-angle lens.

Street price (MAP) for the KV-DR305W is $99.95.
