First Clarion Marine Products to Launch Under JL Audio Management

Clarion Marine is expanding distribution and retail availability. The brand will soon launch its first line of products created under JL Audio management.

The line will include more than one speaker series, catering to different price points, said a spokesman.

JL Audio licensed the Clarion Marine brand from Clarion of Japan at the close of 2018. Since then, it hired a dedicated team of product planners, engineers and supply chain experts to form a product development team specifically for Clarion Marine.  The first wave of new products from this team will debut this summer, with more products scheduled for 2021.

Seawide Distribution was the sole distributor of Clarion Marine in the US for 2019 but now Clarion Marine’s distribution will be expanded to align more closely with JL Audio’s distribution plus a network of additional specialty retailers.

“We accepted the challenge to return Clarion Marine to a leadership position with products that are relevant, well-priced and able to deliver a great customer experience,” said Andy Oxenhorn, President of JL Audio.  “…With our disciplined marketing and distribution plan, we expect Clarion Marine to set new records for sales by 2023.”

A select group of retailers have been authorized to sell the marine products online.

Manville Smith, VP of Marketing for JL Audio, Inc. said, “Our new Clarion Marine tagline, ‘Let’s Hear It.’, anchors our brand message for Clarion Marine. …We will also place an emphasis on Clarion Marine’s longstanding reputation for building products that last in real marine use. We call it ‘Salt and Sun Certified,’ which is a short way of describing the intense testing and certification our products must pass.”
