Alpine Electronics is offering for the first time a full line of pre-loaded subwoofer enclosures. The Halo enclosures use the same silver trim of its Halo radios and also borrow the “stacking” concept from Alpine’s PowerStack amplifiers, said the company.
The Halo enclosures, announced at CES this month, can be connected by a linking kit to form a dual enclosure. The modular boxes are loaded with Alpine’s model R mid-level woofers or model S entry level woofers in 10- and 12-inch sizes.
The modular approach allows customers to buy a single enclosure and then add a second enclosure later with the linking kit, which includes a front and back plate.
The Halo enclosures use a ported design tuned to 36 Hz for the 10-inch models and 35 Hz for the 12 inch.
Linking kits are the KTX-H10 or KTX-H12 for 10-inch and 12-inch models, respectively.
Bass levels can be controlled with the RUX-H01 Remote Bass Knob for Halo (sold separately). The knob can be mounted to any 9-inch or 11-inch Halo screen or anywhere in the vehicle for quick bass level adjustments.
