Metra Electronics will introduce at the SEMA Show next month a 360-degree automotive replacement mirror that simultaneous  records the inside and outside of the vehicle.  You also get touchscreen finger-tip control of the image.

Drivers may add a rear camera to the system with a 130-degree diagonal field of view.

Users can pan left or right on the touchscreen for a wider field of view and get a split or quad-screen view as shown below.

The iBeam mirror model TE-360M45 also provides interior audio recording and snapshot capability, especially helpful for ride share or commercial drivers.

It records in 1080p video and has a built-in 4.5-inch monitor with touch control and 480×845 resolution.

A dashcam version of the system will also be announced.  Called the TE-360M45, it has the same features as the mirror except it includes a 4-inch touch screen with 480×800 resolution.  It also works with the same 130-degree rear camera.

Both systems can record an incident while the vehicle is parked through a built-in G sensor.  The device begins to record if there is a shock to the vehicle even when it is turned off.

Video footage is stored on a microSD card that can support up to 32GB.
