Press Release: CHICAGO–Mid City Engineering announced new 100 percent plug and play remote start and alarm solutions for the 2019 Mercedes and Freightliner Sprinter with options for OEM style high idle and analog start/stop triggers.

The SKSNG907 and SKSNG907RV offer an unprecedented feature set for any 2019 Sprinter with a variety of add-ons and applications available. Truly 100% plug-and-play, the entire system can be installed in 10-15 minutes (extra key required, key box included). Standalone, the SKSNG907 will add remote start using the factory key fob (lock-unlock-lock) and basic alarm. For extra security, a Compustar DAS sensor can be connected to the module for shock, tilt, and vehicle movement. The system is also compatible with the Compustar Drone and Directed Smart Start as well as Compustar and Directed RF remotes with full 2-way communication (including alarm notifications) from both smartphone applications and 2-way RF kits. In addition, an external Compustar or Directed alarm can be added to open up the full range of alarm capabilities (multiple sensors, external siren, etc). The only connections needed for external alarm are plug-and-play data (RS232 / D2D) and an ignition wire- giving installers and sales staff a full array of options to meet any customers’ needs. Yet another new and exciting feature is our anti-theft system. When enabled through the menu option, both the Compustar Drone and Directed Smart Start systems utilize the AUX1 button to disable the vehicle the next time it travels to 0MPH. Once the vehicle is disabled, the lights will flash and the vehicle will not be able to start again until the user hits the unlock command on their Drone or Smart Start.

As always, no programming or flashing is required for our kits and they will work out of the box. For custom programming, options settings are controlled through the world’s only integrated instrument cluster menu. User friendly operation through the steering wheel controls allow dealers and end-users to adjust all of the options and settings. For Sprinters without steering wheel controls, a Compustar/ADS programmer or Directed XKLoader can be plugged in to adjust all settings with our user-friendly programming software.

The SKSNG907RV offers the same feature set as the SKSNG907 plus the ability to add OEM style high-idle and optional analog triggers for start/stop and status output. The analog triggers can be configured to a 1 wire (latched ground to start) or 2 wire (ground to start and ground to stop) setup. When the remote start is activated, the high idle will automatically engage to a programmable RPM. For additional high idle options, you can also engage the high idle using the parking brake (even when the vehicle is not remote started). With no factory high-idle option available, this will be the go-to application and offers an enormous opportunity in the market. The start / stop trigger is a must-have solution for anyone with a lithium ion or similar power system or any other system with a monitor that can send out a trigger to notify vehicle to start. “Automating the charging process is a game-changer for anyone with an RV, work truck or similar application,” says Dan Ruby, owner of Mid City Engineering, “combine that with the high-idle and analog start / stop trigger, and you have a complete integrated power delivery solution for this platform.”
