Linkswell, maker of Tesla-style large-screened radios, is offering a series of 8.4-inch radios for vehicles that can’t accept a 10- or 12-inch super screen.

“You have popular vehicles like the Jeep that it’s impossible to make a big screen for.  But there are people that want the features we offer including the ability to go online and read your email.  The dash limits us.  So, we went as big as we could,” said LinksWell National Sales Manager Walt Detlefsen.

A new 8.4-inch Android radio is available for the Jeep Wrangler JL, model years 2018 and 2019.  This month also marks a soft-launch for an 8.4-inch Android radio that works for both the Dodge Challenger 2015-2019 and the Dodge Charger 2011-2019. It replaces the factory 7-inch head unit.

The Jeep JL model replaces the factory 5-inch screen, which is standard on most models.  It is one of the few upgrades on the market that will retain the factory back up cameras, said Linkswell.

It uses a quad-core system with PhoneLink to a smartphone, touchscreen climate controls, WiFi capability, and camera inputs.  Users can download Android apps directly to the radio and browse the Internet or access email directly on the radio. Other features include two USB inputs, AM/FM radio, Bluetooth and optional iGo navigation.

Installation is plug and play with factory-matched harnesses.
