Press Release (edited): In some markets, consumers prefer security over remote start. So, Directed announced today new security-specific firmware for its DS4 remote start/security platform. It also showed what it calls the industry’s first Bluetooth siren.
All DS4 and DS4+ systems are compatible with the new security-specific firmware. Entry-level protection includes the 8504D impact and tilt sensor added to DS4 with the vehicle’s horn trigger used for alerts. Customers can upgrade to the Directed DS4SU which adds a Revenger 6-tone siren to the 8504D. Those customers looking for the most effective solution can buy a new DS4WS Bluetooth wireless siren, which includes impact and tilt sensors, as well as a backup battery.
Directed SVP of Product Management James Turner said, “In 2019 we’re adding a new trick to the DS4 repertoire – security only. We know there are a number of markets in North America where security is a bigger seller than remote start. Now with DS4 security-specific and our new DS4WS Bluetooth siren we’re redefining what security installation means.”
Directed is showing its new DS4 security-specific offerings at the Hard Rock Hotel to its dealers by appointment.
