Power Acoustik, an Epsilon brand, will ship early next year a double DIN radio with a 10.6-inch display that swivels for easy viewing.

The deck includes a DVD player and MHL PhoneLink so Android users can see their smartphone information mirrored on the radio screen.  It has a huge 1080p display on a gimbal mount so it can pivot for the best viewing angle or to avoid AC controls or vents in the dash.

The deck will be on view at CES in January in two versions–navigation and non-navigation– as models PDN-1060HB and PD-1060HB, respectively.  Shipping is expected in January at aggressive price points to be announced.

Power Acoustik’s sister company, Soundstream also announced it has delayed its Alexa voice controlled car radio shown at CES last year, but it is working on a new version to be on view at this year’s CES in January.  Originally the head unit relied on pressing a button to activate Alexa, but Soundstream is now planning a version, which launches Alexa by voice.  The new deck should be ready to ship by the end of the second quarter 2019.  It may also offer Alexa control over radio features such as changing stations, said the company.

Soundstream will also show several new products at CES including new compact amplifiers with built-in digital pre-amplifiers, “so you can get a lot of the advantages of DSP without all of the rigmarole to set it up,” said Epsilon’s Paul Goldberg. The amp doesn’t require a PC to set up but uses push buttons and knobs on top of the unit that can set crossover points, bass boost settings, and level adjustments that are viewable on a small LCD display.  It also displays running voltage and temperature while in idle.

Pre-amp/amp models include the DPA4.1600D (4 channel; 1600 watts Max); DPA1.2000D (monoblock; 2000 watts Max); and DPA5.2000D (5 channel; 2000 watts Max).

Soundstream will also show new Bass Xtreme amplifiers with built in bass processors. The monoblock, Class D amplifiers will offer maximum power ratings starting at 5,000 watts, up to 7,500 watts.  These will be joined by matching Bass Xtreme woofers.
