Remote start is all about the weather.  A cold snap before Christmas is the ideal condition for a great selling season.  So, here’s what the experts are predicting for the coming winter.

Unfortunately, the traditional colder zones in the US are expected to see a warm start to the winter, with mild air lingering in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states until January and February, according to AccuWeather.

This is due to an El Nino pattern, when sea surface temperatures rise to above normal levels.

Towards the end of remote start season, by February, temperatures will drop below last year by 4 to 8 degrees in the New York and Philadelphia regions, AccuWeather predicts.

Similarly, the Farmer’s Almanac said “The real teeth-chattering arrives mid-February especially in the following zones:  Northeast/New England, Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, Midwest, and Southeast (yes, even the Southeast will be in the chill zone!).”

Remarkably, it’s the South that will see a significantly colder winter this year, according to forecasts.  Cold air and storms are expected to blast the Southeast, Tennessee Valley and Gulf Coast.  These regions will see several snowstorms in January and February.

In parts of the southern Plains (Dallas and North of Houston to Little Rock), temperatures could drop into the mid-20s. The region will see a few storms in December, but these will grow more frequent in January and February, according to AccuWeather.

By the way, The Farmer’s Almanac says it bases it predictions on a “mathematical and astronomical formula developed in 1818.”
