Alpine’s Mini Powered Sub Has DSP

Alpine showed its first under the seat powered subwoofer to include built-in DSP at KnowledgeFest.

The DSP can be controlled from a smartphone or PC.

The PWD-X5 is a univerisal subwoofer with 25 watts built in power and 4 channel DSP.  It’s a self-contained unit with no preouts.   It has a subwoofer channel  powered at 160 watts.

THe PWD-X5 ships in October at $599.

Alpine also shipped this month a new CD player, model CDE-175BT.  It has 5 volt output, instead of the usual 4 volt output and its power IC is based on the higher end Restyle IC.  It also adds NFC (Near Field Communication) for quick Bluetooth pairing. Other features include SiriusXM, Bluetooth, Pandora and USB at $199.

Alpine also showed a Tough Power Pack KTA-30FW weather resistant version of its micro amplifier.  It has  75 watts by 4 power.  It also includes technology that increases the gain in pulses to match peaks in music. The KTA-30FW carries a price of $299.
