Directed announced a new faster, 4G version of its Viper SmartStart remote-start-from-a-cellphone system.
It is unveiling at KnowledgeFest in Dallas this week the Viper SmartStart Pro, offering 4G LTE connectivity, and also supporting 3G when needed.
By moving to a 4G platform, Directed said it is future-proofing the product to support new features as they are developed.
The VSM550 will ship with a new, simplified one-piece wiring harness allowing for faster and cleaner installations while maintaining pin-for-pin compatibility with older models. The VSM550 is compatible with Directed’s DS4 remote starters. It will ship in early September and carries a suggested retail price of $199.99. A Directed-branded unit will be available as well, the Directed SmartStart Pro DSM550.
