The annual European awards for car audio and other electronics were announced Wednesday with Pioneer taking the prize in head units. Numerous awards went to brands from Elettromedia and Orca Design & Manufacturing as well as Match, Helix, Morel, and German Maestro.
The EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) awards select products that combine the most advanced technology and desirable features with “class-leading” performance. They are judged by representatives of more than 50 leading specialist magazines in 5 countries.
The awards in In-Car Electronics included the Pioneer AVIC-Z910DAB for Best In-Car Head Unit, offering wireless CarPlay and wired Android Auto. The Audison TH K2 II A Coro speaker won for In-Car High End Component, and a Mosconi Gladen Pico 8/12 DSP won for In-Car Integration.
The best In-Car Smart Upgrade went to the Match UP7BMW and the best subwoofer was deemed the Audison APBX 10AS.
Taking the Best Product for In-Car Innovation was a Gladen Aures that uses binaural in-ear sensors and high quality microphones to provide accurate in-car measurements for sound tuning. It can be used as a standalone measuring system or in combo with Mosconi DSP units.
JL Audio took the prize for best amplifier with its VX800/8i.
