KnowledgeFest West Coast Style

KnowledgeFest opened in Long Beach, closely watched by industry members to see if it might become a major West Coast industry show.

Many said the event was off to a good start.  Fifty suppliers were on the show floor, and 1200 people pre-registered, the same numbers as the well-established KnowledgeFest Dallas.

One leading supplier scouting the training seminars said they averaged about 30 attendees each on the first day.

The marketing/sales seminars we attended averaged 50 to 150 attendees during the first two days of the show held February 24-26.  Some seminars, including Ken Ward’s Educar training sessions, were said to attract around 300 people.

Chris Cook, President of KnowledgeFest host, the Mobile Electronics Association (MEA), said the show will be held again next year  on February 22-24 and that MEA has secured at least 50 percent more show floor space than this year.

Many suppliers say CES is starting to skew towards an OEM car audio show.  Many also said fewer small to mid sized retailers attend CES.
