Wireless Android Auto at JVCKenwood-CES booth

Kenwood will show the first wireless Android Auto decks at CES next month.

Last year we saw the first wireless CarPlay decks, as offered by Alpine in the iLX-107 receiver and from BMW.

This year, wireless Android Auto will make its debut at CES in the form of five wireless Android Auto car radios, some also with wired CarPlay.

Three of the wireless Android Auto devices will fall under the eXcelon brand (one navigation deck, one AV deck and one mechless deck without a DVD player).  And two of the units will fall under the Kenwood brand (a navigation deck and one AV deck).

With wireless Android Auto presumably users can leave their Android phone in their pocket and Android Auto mode will automatically launch when you enter the car.

At least one of the new decks will feature an HD quality screen with 1280 x 720 resolution.

Also, at the JVCKenwood booth at CES (shown above), will be a lineup of  AV decks that support DSD (Direct Stream Digital) Hi-Res Audio files.

The company will show a line of “high-resolution dashcams with safe driving support functions capable of connecting to JVCKENWOOD’s AV multimedia receivers,” said a JVCKenwood corporate announcement.

Additionally, the booth will include a sound room to demonstrate Hi-Res Audio.

More details will follow at CES…
