Best Buy has launched in the last few weeks a powersports audio program in 250 stores.
The program includes more than 21 products from Kenwood, Kicker, Boss Audio, MB Quart, Hifonics, Heise and others. The assortment includes a motorcycle audio system, UTV audio, marine audio and lighting.
Both Boss Audio and Maxxsonics (Hifonics, MB Quart) acknowledged the new Best Buy program and both said it is available in 250 stores.
“If it goes well they are open to putting it in all stores,” said one supplier. “The whole challenge is getting consumers to realize that type of product is at Best Buy…getting consumers to realize they are in that category.”
He added that some of the powersports audio products are already selling well.
Best Buy did not respond to our inquiry.
Pictured here is a display that went up 1-2 weeks ago, which we were able to see for ourselves at the Best Buy in Danbury, CT.
On display is a Kenwood deck, amplifier and speaker; a Kicker amplifier and speaker; Heise light bars; two Hifonics sound bars; an MB quart source unit, amplifier and four MB quart speakers and a Boss Audio system (the program actually includes two Boss audio systems), plus other components.
The display says, “Update your boat, bike or ATV with audio and lighting designed to handle the elements.”
