The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) announced the Best New Products Award winners this morning at the 2017 SEMA Show. The awards are given to the “most innovative and cutting-edge automotive aftermarket products that will be consumable in 2018.”
In the Mobile Electronics category Waylens’ Secure360 Automotive Security Camera won the Best Product award. The 4G dashcam provides a 360 degree view in and around the car providing a total-view dash cam. It also doubles as a live security camera viewable from a smartphone so users can see directly in and around the car if they receive a security alert. The 4G version will ship in Q1 at $349, preceded by a WiFi version to ship by the end of the year at $249.
Runners up under Mobile Electronics were the Rockford Fosgate, DSR1 8-Channel Interactive Signal Processor w/ Integrated iDatalink Maestro Module and also from Rockford Fosgate, the TMS69BL14 Power Harley-Davidson Rear Audio Kit (2014+).
Nearly 3,000 products were entered into 16 different categories to be considered for the SEMA New Product Awards this year. Winners were selected based on a variety of factors that included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability, and more.
