Hurricane Harvey, which poured trillions of gallons of water across the greater Houston area over the past five days, may have destroyed as many as 500,000 vehicles, reports The Detroit Bureau.
The storm is expected to raise prices across the country on used cars and drive up sales of new cars.
Once again, this is an unprecedented event for the automobile industry. By contrast about 200,000 cars were lost in Hurricane Katrina and about 250,000 in Superstorm Sandy, according to authorities.
