AAMP Seeks Audio Engineer

AAMP Global, designer and manufacturer of aftermarket and OEM vehicle technology, is looking for an Audio Engineer to join its global high performance audio team. Phoenix Gold and Stinger are iconic brands in the car audio space, and behind the brands we have a team of audiophiles, meticulously designing and engineering speakers, subs, amps, and other audio accessories and components. Giving drivers worldwide studio quality sound in any vehicle on the road. The Audio Engineer will be instrumental in developing new technology and solutions that allow installers to deliver musical reproduction with precision. An acoustic visionary, this role will support the category lead with future roadmap development. Executing on big ideas keeping our audio technology leading edge.


Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Create and evaluate Loudspeaker and Crossover Designs
  • Generate PCBA manufacturing documentation (BOMs, gerbers, assembly drawings)
  • Design analog and digital electronic circuits to meet product requirements, including cost targets
  • Capture circuit schematics and create PCB layouts
  • Create test fixtures for production testing of product
  • Work closely with the Product Management group to determine project requirements and priorities
  • Manage workload on multiple simultaneous projects with fast design cycles
  • Determine design elements by conducting in-vehicle research
  • Be solely responsible for a project, or lead or participate in a small development team
  • Interact with other functional groups, customers, and vendors to coordinate technical matter and to contribute technically on projects
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies
  • Suggest, or be involved in discussion of, new product ideas

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering , Electronics Engineering or Acoustics/Psychoacoustics with electronics . 5+ years of progressive engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 3-5 years of experience in an audio related field (preferably automotive)
  • Specific experience required in 3 or more of the following fields: acoustical engineering, transducer engineering, digital signal processing, amplifier engineering,
  • Detailed knowledge of acoustic theory, sound reproduction and sound system tuning is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with peers in cross functional areas; work cooperatively with management
  • Ability to communicate effectively; verbal and written
  • Experience with testing and development tools (Leap, Audio Precision, Term Pro, Etc)
  • Electro Static Discharge ESD protective training and electronics handling techniques preferred
