VAIS Technology announces a new Universal (stock one) approach for adding integrated SiriusXM tuners to most vehicles. Its new GSR-UO1 interface can now work with over 75 car models and 14 car brands to add SiriusXM to cars that don’t come with the option.
In the past, VAIS modules were only available for a few car models at a time.
About 25 percent of all new vehicles delivered to the car dealer do not offer satellite radio from the factory.
VP of Sales, Dennis Hopper said, “One of the biggest challenges our dealers encountered was that they could never stock the right mix of products from VAIS Technology.” He added, “With the new GSR-01 now a dealer only has to stock one model to do all of those vehicles.”
The new satellite radio interface also provides a redesigned GUI (Graphical User Interface) for all vehicles, allowing consumers to better navigate, browse and set satellite radio station presets more easily. Like past units, the GSR-U01 integrates with the vehicle using the factory steering wheel buttons and controls for a seamless “factory like” solution.
Currently, the GSR-U01 is compatible with most vehicles from Fiat-Chrysler America, GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Subaru, Porsche, Nissan, Land Rover, and Mazda.
“The GSR-U01 leverages a simple firmware update system, which ensures that we can stay on top of the software updates as automakers roll out new vehicle models with new radios says,” said VAIS CEO Eugene Kaspin. Updates will be available through a new dealer portal.
The GSR-U01 is designed, engineered and manufactured in the US.
