Mazda announced it will roll out Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the near future. Additionally, many existing Mazda owners will be able to upgrade their infotainment systems to include CarPlay and Android Auto, reported Cars.com this week.
Mazda announced that existing owners of vehicles with the Mazda Connect system will be able to upgrade with “minimal hardware,” Cars.com reported quoting a Mazda spokesman.
No roll out date was provided.
This leaves Toyota as one of the few remaining holdouts in adopting CarPlay.
Apple CarPlay is already available in over 200 vehicles from car makers including Chevrolet, Chrysler, Honda, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and Kia.
