MESA, the Mobile Electronics Specialists of America buying/marketing group announced its first driver safety vendor as Echomaster.

The group sees driver safety as an expanding category.  “More and more consumers are coming into stores asking for it,” said MESA Executive Director Ryan Gunter.  “It’s something our members have been asking about,–‘Who should we carry’ and ‘what are the best products.’”

The search for a vendor was difficult as there are lots of companies who sell “bits and pieces” of the category, he said.  “We found Echomaster had the most complete product offering under one roof with the training and marketing that goes with it.”

Herb Brown Vice President of Sales at AAMP Global, Echomaster’s parent company said. “AAMP’s greatest growth opportunity right now is safety, which is why we have focused a great deal of R&D, marketing and sales resources on making EchoMaster the best, single source for 12 volt retailers…”

Echomaster will remain the driver safety for MESA over the next two years.

MESA has 136 retail members covering 42 states. Its members’ sales in car audio and electronics totals $287 million.

We asked if MESA is considering adding a third, lower tier of retail members with lower annual sales than the current Gold or Platinum members. Gunter said, “Not at this point.”

Other MESA vendor partners include Kenwood, Pioneer, JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Hertz, Audison, Compustar, Directed, VOXX, Jensen, Scosche, PAC, iSimple, AAMP of America, Atrend, AudioControl, Escort, SolarGard, Roadwire, Race Sport, SiriusXM, and others.
