Audison (Elettromedia USA) introduced its first Prima series slimline subwoofers with new enclosures.
The slimline enclosed subwoofer packages come in three versions starting at $370 suggested retail price.
The woofers themselves have long excursion voice coils for deep base but shallow mounting depths so the boxes are only about 4.29 inches and 4.72 inches high.
The new subwoofer drivers include an 8-inch woofer, available in a reflex model designed for a vented enclosure and a dual 4 ohm voice coil model designed for a sealed enclosure with a suggested retail of $250. The 10-inch model is available in a dual 4 ohm voice coil version at a suggested retail price of $375.
With enclosures, the 8-inch woofer comes in a sealed version and a vented version. The sealed box is .3 cu. feet and the vented box is .26 cu. feet. The suggested retail price for both boxes is $370. The 10-inch model is sealed only and is .42 cu. feet. The suggested retail is $480.
An 8-inch APBX 8R and APBX 8DS handles 250 watts RMS and 500 watts peak.
An APBX 10DSĀ handles 400 watts RMS and 800 watts peak.
All three enclosures can be used in a up firing or side firing configuration. Included in the packaging are replaceable velcro feet for use in a down firing method.
They come with push connectors and also plug and play connectors for use with Prima AP amplifiers, said the company.
