It announced today that its PAC integration kits will be combined with its EchoMaster driver safety products such as cameras, sensors and blind spot systems, resulting in vehicle specific driver safety systems for 148 vehicle models.

Additionally, AAMP is pouring money into driver safety research & development, putting on new personnel in sales and marketing as well as adding dealer training and assistance to jump start the driver safety category, it said.

AAMP aims to be a leader in driver safety. “There is no bigger global growth opportunity for AAMP right now than safety,” said CEO David Klatt.

“AAMP sees itself as a driver safety company as its main focus, long term.  We’re not going to forget about the other brands and radio replacement. It’s very important.  But safety is one of our major growth pillars,” said Still.

AAMP launched the first of thePAC/EchoMaster systems at the SEMA show last month, with blind spot camera systems specifically for the Mercedes Sprinter Van and the Ford F150.

“Our goal is to make it easy for dealers to either enter the space, or increase their success within this growing category,” added Still. “… we have developed informative packaging and high impact in-store displays… ”  The company has “turnkey retail solutions” for merchandising driver safety as well as pre-canned social media content, graphics and more.
