Pioneer Electronics has teamed with the Mobile Electronics Specialist of America (M.E.S.A.) retailer group for its second annual Safe & Sound Tour that promotes safer driving among teens.

Together with MESA dealers, Pioneer will demonstrate CarPlay, Android Auto and other new technologies at high school football games.  Both teens and parents will receive product discounts and/or free basic installations offered by the local retailer.

Each participating school will receive a donation from Pioneer. Last year, Pioneer donated a total of $50,000 to schools nationwide and will make a similar contribution this year.

Ted Cardenas, Pioneer’s VP Marketing said, “It is our goal to educate younger drivers about advanced technologies and encourage them to use attentive driving habits. Pioneer’s products make it easier for drivers to update their vehicles with the latest connectivity options and better audio, which are particularly ideal for teens driving older vehicles.”

Through MESA retailers, Pioneer will show NEX car radio receivers at 45 high schools around the country. These will include the AVIC-8200NEX, AVIC-7200NEX and AVH-4200NEX, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay that let drivers connect to their smartphones in a smarter and safer way.
