Escort Launches Retail Specialist Program

Escort announced a specialist retailer program that trains and certifies salesmen and installers on Escort products and rewards the dealers they work for.

The program will run for about a year until June 30, 2017.

Stores can assign a salesman or installer to become an Escort specialist.  He will take in-store and online courses and must pass a certification exam.  Then he receives discounts for Escort products including the 9500Ci, MAX 360,  iX, X70, or Redline models.

His retail employer then gets customer referrals from Escort’s dealer locator and from national ads and social media.

Escort’s Mark Karnes said radar detectors are becoming so complex that there is a need for specialized training in the products.

“We realized radar detection systems are becoming so sophisticated, especially with ever changing cars with safety systems built-in, we wanted a certified training program for an ongoing learning environment and also wanted to reach out to the public with a place to go where someone is well trained…”

Karnes said participating dealers “will be embedded in all our national advertising, our social media, to direct the consumer looking for more sophisticated solutions to go to someone that is better educated.”

The company sells to about 450 storefronts and hopes that 70 to 80 percent of them will sign up for the program by the holidays.

Participating dealers will also be entered into a rewards program for a chance to win a trip to the BMW Driving School. Winners will be announced at next year’s KnowledgeFest in Dallas and will be named in Mobile Electronics Magazine.
