VOXX Electronics announced it is shipping a plug and play upgrade solution for Ford vehicles so consumers may add navigation and HDMI to their existing SYNC 3 Ford radios while keeping factory features.
The new interface integrates with the screen on select 2016 Ford vehicles, adding navigation with touch screen control.
The interface, model FDS3NAV2, is updataeable via a remote USB connection.
It uses iGo Next Generation software with maps of the US and Canada. Users can upgrade to new maps via USB cable.
The system also includes added/displayed OBD information such as fuel economy, door open/close, engine oil temp, and other available data depending on the vehicle it is installed in. It has an HDMI input for mirroring smartphone content on the radio display and it has smartphone charging.
The interface can also work with a backup camera.
It is compatible with vehicles including the 2016 Ford C-Max, Edge, Escape, Expedition, F-150, Fiesta, Focus, Mustang and Transit.
