JL Audio is now shipping its second recent OEM integration digital signal processing device–the FiX 86. This follows the FiX 82, which shipped late last year.
The FIX 86 OEM Integration/DSP lets you upgrade your car audio system without switching out the factory radio. It automatically corrects time delay in factory signals. It gives the installer a clean signal that is summed, and time corrected so that an aftermarket product may be added, even when the factory system is loaded with digital signal processing, as many are today.
It has a 4.1 channel input/output architecture, while the original FiX 82 was a 2-channel version.
The FiX 86 accepts line level or speaker level signals up to 30 volts into eight inputs and it can independently process a three-way front set of signals and a two-way rear set, “outputting clean, corrected front, rear and non-fading subwoofer outputs,” said JL Audio.
The only equipment required for setup is a calibration track played through the audio system. With the press of a button, in about 30 seconds, clean front, rear and subwoofer audio signals are generated for connection to aftermarket electronics, said JL Audio.
An optional DRC-200 Digital Remote Controller can be added to the FiX 86, for Master Volume, Subwoofer Level and mode selection functions.
