The A Speaker from Akoustic Arts that directs sound in a precise beam so that those outside of the beam can’t hear it has raised 500 percent of its funding on Indiegogo since March 16.
In the future, the speaker may be used in the car so that the driver and passengers could each hear their own audio programming. In fact, Akoustic Arts is already in talks with car makers to build OEM systems with the new technology.
The company, consisting of 6 engineers and businessmen out of Paris, had hoped to raise only $30,000 on Indiegogo and instead raised $154,268 with 412 backers.
Akoustic Arts refers to its technology as “the speaker that only you can hear.”
