Rosen Electronics is now shipping the AV8900H Digital Headrest Entertainment System, which it calls the first “digital system” for headrests.
The headrest DVD/monitor maintains an all-digital signal when connected to an HDMI, USB or SD card device for better picture quality, said Rosen.
The system has dual DVD drives and 8-inch high-resolution monitors.
The signal stays digital at two stages–as it is shared between the two headrest monitors and as it is sent to the monitor. Images then appear more detailed, brighter and clearer, even though the monitor is displaying 480p.
Display resolution on the AV8900H is 800 X 480. The system’s USB port can be used with large capacity (up to 1 TB) flash drives with full 1080P support. It permits WiFi streaming (when available) over Google Chromecast, ROKU Stick, Amazon Fire TV Stick, and more.
The AV8900H also uses capacitive touch buttons for fast response times. It includes a 1.5 meter HDMI and USB extension cable for installation flexibility.
A short 30 second video is available.
