Hertz will ship in April new marine audio speakers and amplifiers, in its first entry into the marine category.
The products have been designed from scratch specifically for the marine environment. And they are designed to be loud, and to overcome engine noise. For example the speaker grilles are very “transparent” to avoid sound absorption.
Coaxial speakers use a large 36mm diaphragm tweeter, as it is the high frequencies that are lost when competing with noise from a boat. The coaxials will come in 6.5- and 8 –inch sizes with neodymium tweeters in a PEI material dome and polypropylene woofers .
A marine subwoofer will be available in 10 inches into two constructions—infinite baffle or compact sealed/reflex enclosures.
Marine amplifiers will come in two models—a 600 watt mono and a 4-channel (4 x 150 watts at 4 ohms, 4 x 250 watts at 2 ohms and 2 x 500 at 4 ohms bridged. Each measures less than 7 x 14 x 2 inches.
The marine models will be built in the factory of Hertz’s parent company, Elettromedia.
