A super high-powered marine radio with a built-in 600 watt amplifier, has been assigned a ship date of February at $319.99.
The AM505BT from Dual Electronics has triple the built-in power of standard marine radios, says Dual, so there’s no need for a separate amplifier for a basic system.
The M505BT is mechless (CDless) and by removing the CD transport, Dual was able to make room for the high wattage digital amplifier.
The unit also has Bluetooth for music streaming with ID3 song tags, direct USB control for iPod/iPhone devices, and control for the Pandora app running on an iPhone.
The marinized radio repels water. It has a large, 3-inch full color LCD display and built-in 7-channel NOAA weather band tuner.
Sony began the move to high powered radios with the launch of the MEX-XB100BT earlier this year.
