VOXX said it will soon offer its  360-degree sports camera with virtual reality to independent 12 volt, bike, ski, surf, motocross and powersports shops

The 360Fly camera is currently available through Best Buy only, but VOXX is preparing to bring the camera to the powersports arena through independent shops.   VOXX is also now signing up reps that service powersports dealers.

The 360 camera takes panoramic video images.  Then users can click and drag within the video images to change the view. So if you shoot footage directly in front of you as you are driving a UTV, you can then zoom around to see the imagery all around you.  (See a demo here).

The 360Fly shoots HD view without stitching images together.  It has a field view of 360 degrees horizontal by 240 degrees vertical, which is more than twice the view of traditional POV cameras. It is also shock-proof, water resistant, and has built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth functionality.

“We’re going in to a category dominated by GoPro and we’re offering a high tech alternative,” said VOXX Electronics President Tom Malone.

“360fly will change the way video is captured both in and out of the vehicle and we are eager to see the many unique ways the camera will be used to capture and share this dynamic and interactive content,” he added.

The product will be on view at the VOXX booth, North Hall, #11929 – Tuesday, November 3, through Friday, November 6, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
