MTX S65

MTX audio will show a new series of square subwoofers this week at the SEMA show November 3-6 in Las Vegas.

The new S65 series handles up to 500 watts RMS power and is positioned as an affordable square subwoofer. It comes in both 10- and 12- sizes in dual 4 ohm configurations.

The line uses a patent surround that allows for increased Xmax and lower distortion for higher SPL and better sound quality, said MTX.

The speaker also has Spider Plateau Venting, which mechanically targets cool air at the voice coil, and a t-yoke with integrated heat sink to further assist in removing hot air from the voice coil.

The S65 uses a similar motor structure to the earlier MTX 55 Series but with a larger magnet.

A red LED is included in the grille of each speaker. They are priced at less than $250 per pair.
