Kenwood USA announced it will ship two additional CarPlay AV car radios this month starting at a suggested retail price of $800.
The radios join two other radios released earlier this summer, that offer both CarPlay and Android Auto starting at $900.
The new Kenwood Excelon DDX6902S ($850.00) and DDX6702S ($800.00) work only with CarPlay (and not Android Auto).
“We are committed to enhancing the connected lifestyle,” said Tony Mercado, Kenwood Marketing Manager. “iPhone users have deeply integrated relationships with their devices, and extending the safe function of those devices in the vehicle is vital…”
Each of the radios has a 6.2-inch screen bordered on the left by a physical knob and menu buttons. They offer backup camera capability and are SiriusXM ready, and they include built-in HD Radio, and a DVD player.
The Excelon DDX6902S includes three 5-volt pre-amp outputs and a 7-band equalizer. The Kenwood DDX6702S includes three 4-volt pre-amp outputs and a 5-band EQ.
