AAMP of America introduced a plug-and-play kit that allows the installation of an aftermarket backup camera system in select Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles with a CAN bus.
The kit PAC BCI-CH21, lets you add a backup camera but retain the factory look through a simple installation.
While backup cameras in new cars have become more popular, the average age of a car on the road is 11 years. So there are many cars that could benefit from a backup camera, said AAMP of America.
According to a recent consumer survey conducted by AAMP, 42% of respondents said owning a backup camera is “very important” and 25% “important”, yet 70% of respondents’ vehicles did not currently have a backup camera system and 60% of respondents said they would like to add one to their current vehicle.
