NAV-TV introduced at KnowledgeFest a robust, audiophile quality, music streaming USB device for the car.
The Stream Stick is designed to easily add music streaming to a car that may lack Bluetooth streaming capability or may have poor quality Bluetooth.
It uses Bluetooth 4.0 EDR (Extended Data Rate), which can transmit lossless or FLAC high quality audio.
“Steam Stick is using the same Bluetooth chipset that Apple uses–Bluetooth 4.0 with EDR. Alot of other devices use 4.0 without EDR or 3.0,” said NAV-TV’s Derek Schmeidl.
The universal device plugs into any device with an auxiliary input, so it can also be used with an alarm clock or TV. It has a USB jack that is used for power, or it can draw power from a cigarette lighter cable.
It allows mixed audio so if you are listening to Pandora, the volume will lower for a navigation cue.
The device will ship in about a week at $99.
