Audison announced it is lowering the price of its bit One processor, which helped to spark the trend in digital signal processors for car audio.

The street price of the bit One drops from $999.99 to $749.99, effective July 15.

“After many years of success with the Bit Processor line, we have been able to cover our development investments and for this reason we are able to offer these fantastic prices,” said Massimo Mezzadri, Director of Sales for Elettromedia, Audison’s parent company in Italy.

In addition, the company is lowering the price of the bit Ten D (8-channel DSP with full DA and a full digital connection) to $529.99 from $599.99.

The basic bit Ten (4-channel, not fully digital) drops to $349.99 from $399.99.

Audison also previewed at CES in January, a bit One HD to be offered in the future, with more channels than the original bit One and the ability to process higher resolution audio files.

As we reported here, digital signal processors (DSPs) are catching on, and nearly every amplifier company will offer one in the near future. Audison, is credited by many with helping to launch the category with the Bit One, introduced around 2008.

Audison also offers a bit Tune with a built in RTA, Oscilloscope and other tools to help automatically tune and time align a car’s audio system.
