GROM Audio announced the release of the GROM-IPD4 car kit, a new version of the GROM-IDP3.

The IPD4 includes a USB port for iPhone/Android integration, and two extension ports – for the aux-in connection and a Bluetooth dongle.

It replaces the AUX3 IPD3, which had an analog connection to the iPod/iPhone and did not have any Android integration.

The IPD4 works with GROM’s music app called AALinQ, which is a proprietary Android media player to manage the music files stored on the phone. It also integrates Android phones to the car stereo so it can be controlled from the radio or steering wheel.

The GROM-IDP4 additionally offers 2 extension ports for a Bluetooth dongle and an aux-in 3.5mm phone jack connection.

Through a Bluetooth dongle, users get a Bluetooth connection to their smartphone for music streaming and integrated car stereo controls (AVRSP) as well as hands-free phone calls.

GROM will ship the IDP4 on July 15th starting at a suggested retail price of $129.99. The GROM-IPD4 car kit is compatible with more than 30 car makes. The full compatibility list is available at GROM Audio website.
