ADS says it is the first supplier to release remote start capability for the new 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee and 2015 Chrysler 200 as well as the first to offer remote start capability for the Fiat 500 that doesn’t require burying a key. It is also the first to provide remote start for the 2014-2015 RAM Promaster work truck.
ADS is offering this capability through flash updates released Monday for its current data modules, the ALCA and BLADE-AL without the need to hide a key.
The flash updates will also be available for VOXX’s FlashLogic FLCAN remote start systems.
Directed announced last week it will offer remote start for the new Jeep Cherokee and Chrysler 200 for release in a couple of weeks.
ADS Marketing Director Dan Facciolo said, “Until now no system worked with the new Jeep Cherokee, there wasn’t even a question of burying a key. It was just not possible and there was a lot of frustration in the field. The encryption was very complex and we finally broke it.”
ADS Software updates include the DL-CH10 Klon that works with push to start 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee and 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles. It requires a separate remote start module and can be used with aftermarket transmitters for long range remote start.
The RS-CH10 Klon is similar but you don’t need a separate remote start module and drivers use their factory key by pressing three times on the lock button on the keyfob to remote start the car.
The DL-CH11 and RL-CH11 are similar to the CH10 models but they work with Jeep Cherokee and Chrysler 200 vehicles that use a standard key.
The DL-CH9 Klon works with the 2011-2015 Fiat 500 and 2014-2105 Fiat 500L and RAM Promaster standard key models. It allows ADS bypass modules to work with a remote start module and aftermarket transmitters for long range remote start.
The updates also apply to the VOXX FLCAN data module that can plug directly into any Prestige, Pursuit or Code Alarm remote start equipped with the DBI port. The FLCAN can also be installed in the new vehicles above as a stand-alone remote start, using the vehicle’s factory keyless entry transmitter (3X LOCK). VOXX is also offering optional transmitter upgrade packages to give the consumer increased operating range.
The new firmware for the FLCAN is available for download now on www.flashlogic.com
