Sirius is offering a promotion on its recently shipped SXV300 tuner that works with SiriusXM-ready source units.
The SXV300 tuner carries a price of $69.95. The promotion includes 3 months of free All Access SiriusXM service and free activation.
The tuner adds a few new features above the earlier SXV200 to certain compatible radios. One feature is TuneMix (song shuffle) that draws from your favorite preset stations. Also now users get instant traffic. Since SiriusXM combines traffic for more than one city on a channel, this feature lets you hear the traffic for your particular city instantly, without having to wait through the reports on other cities. Also a new SportsFlash feature lets you pick your favorite sports teams and then SiriusXM will notify you of big plays/scores even while you are listening to music or other channels.
The SXV300 began shipping late last year.
Over 160 car radios are compatible with the new receiver from major aftermarket car stereo brands. Not all the advanced features listed above are available in all SiriusXM-Ready models. Pioneer and Kenwood have introduced 2015 models that support TuneMix, SportsFlash and Traffic & Weather now. More brands will add some or all features over time.
