Dual Electronics Corporation is now shipping three Bluetooth-enabled Smart EQ Processors that can stream music from a smartphone without the need for a car radio.

The processors are suited for tailgating and sound competitions and for use in boats and ATVs that might not have a radio.

The models include a marine version under the Dual brand (MEQ15BT) and car audio models under Axxera (ASEQ505BT) and Dual (DSEQ505BT), each at $199 suggested retail price.

Each processor controls balance, fader, subwoofer gain, and a 7-band EQ with 20 presets from an Android or Apple smartphone. Users must download a free app for the system.

Each processor has three RCA preamp outputs (front/rear/sub), 24-bit DAC, and a 5V line out in Bluetooth streaming mode. They can connect to up to 3 aftermarket amplifiers, and to either an OEM receiver via high-level inputs (speaker wire), or to an aftermarket receiver via RCA inputs.

“When installed with aftermarket amplifiers, the Smart EQ can demonstrably improve the audio quality of an OEM system, without having to modify the dashboard,” said Jim Braun, President and CEO of Dual Electronics.

Each processor also uses signal sensing technology for automatic amplifier remote turn-on, in Bluetooth streaming mode.

The marine version uses conformal coated circuit boards.
