A second KnowledgeFest will be held by the Mobile Electronics Group, (formerly the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association) in Indianapolis, IN, April 11-13 at the Indy Convention Center.
Called KnowledgeFest Spring Training, it is intended as a follow up training expo for all the products introduced at CES this week. Many of the products will ship in the February to April time frame, so the timing for such a show is right, said Chris Cook of the Mobile Electronics Group.
Product training is a commodity that many retailers say has been in short supply.
Additionally, there are approximately 900 car audio dealers within a 6 hour drive from Indianapolis, which should help reach a different group of dealers than those who attend the current KnowledgeFest, held in Dallas each summer.
By contrast there are about 600 dealers within a 6 hour drive of Dallas, said Cook.
A special town meeting of store owners is also planned for the event, which will be similar in format to the summer KnowledgeFest with educational seminars for store managers, owners and installers.
