Tunes N Tint Shriners

Tunes N Tint (Alarms, Etc.) of FL is helping the local Shriners outfit vans that take severely ill children to and from Shriners hospitals.

The 3-store chain, with the help of Kenwood, Scosche and the Mobile Electronics Specialists of America (MESA) buying/marketing group, is equipping vans with 40-50 headrest video tablets to help take the children’s minds off their plight as they ride to  the hospital, said the store’s Joe Cassity.

Kenwood donated the rear seat video tablets and Scosche donated the mounts to secure the tablets to the headrests in the van.

The project was initiated by Joshua Adkins, a former patient at a Shriners hospital who suffered from LeggCalvéPerthes disease, a childhood hip disorder when he was 7 years old. Now a healthy teen, Joshua took on the project for children as an Eagle Scout.

Anyone wishing to donate may contact Bethanne Demas with Shriners at (813) 975-7115 .
