Oz Audio has relaunched the popular 90’s brand as a division of Avtek Electronics, to be led by Oz Audio’s founder and former president, Craig Smith.

Debuting at the SEMA Show next week, Oz Audio is launching a line of component and coaxial speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers.

It is looking to sign up manufacturers’ reps and is offering a signing bonus to former Oz reps who choose to re-enlist their services.

Smith said he is “picking up where he left off” with a brand that ‘plays loud and clean for long periods of time” and both sounds and looks good.

Oz Audio ceased supplying car audio around 2002.

Smith said he has worked in and built recording studios and his focus remains on accurate music reproduction rather than “coloring” sound. ‘I have sat with artists that created a song and helped them to get the sound they liked. And it became obvious to me that playback systems that become popular are those that accurately represent the original sound.’

Smith becomes VP of New Business and Design Engineering for Avtek.

New Oz Audio products come with a two year warranty when installed by an authorized dealer.  There is also an upgrade program for past users.

New subwoofers come in 8-, 10- and 12-inches with aluminum cones. The two larger models use a 2, 2.5- or 3-inch voice coil and the cone and voice coil are integrated to allow the cone to act as a heat sink. All come with dual spiders and spacer ring.  Power ratings are 300, 500 and 800 watts RMS. All models except the 8-inch are offered in either dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm voice coils.

Amplifiers include two full range and three Class D mono models with up to 1600 x 1 watt RMS power.

The speakers and amplifiers will be on display at the SEMA Show in the North Hall booth 11955.  For more information contact Avtek Electronics.
