Volvo Sensus 2015

Volvo announced it has made 3G and remote start from a phone standard equipment on all cars, starting now, claiming it is the first car maker to offer this plus on call roadside assistance standard across all car models.

New 3G systems with an app that can remote start the car plus show the status of windows and door locks, fuel level and more are included in all Volvos starting mid model year 2015, now in showrooms. The app works with iPhone, Android and Windows smartphones.

The new Volvo Sensus Connect system uses AT&T 3G with WiFi hotspots for powering up passenger devices plus text-to-speech text message access and call center support. The system uses steering wheel and voice controls.

With 3G, drivers can stream music from sources like Pandora, TuneIn, Rdio and Sticher.  They can use Yelp and Wikilocation to find restaurants and other points of interest.  And they can share their location over Glympse and check weather forecasts.
