Diamond Audio announced it is now shipping its flagship 2014 Hex Pro HXP65 component speaker system as part of its 20-year anniversary product line.
The Hex Pro components include a 1.125-inch aluminum dual-tuned chamber tweeter that is treated with an advanced polymer to eliminate resonance and deliver a more natural high-frequency response. It also has a ferro-fluid cooled neodymium motor structure for better power handling.
The woofer cones use a special honeycomb core that is compressed between layers of Kevlar. The results is a rigid but light cone for better midbass.
The speaker basket uses a die-cast aluminum frame that is designed to also function as a heatsink for optimal heat dissipation. And the new outboard crossover design is more compact and provides more installation flexibility.
Retail prices on the line range from $1,599 to $1,999.
