Morel is shipping the 2014 Tempo Ultra and Ultra Integra lines first shown at CES in January.
The new Ultra series offers 2-way point source speakers, for better sound at lower prices.
”Adding the new Tempo Ultra series to our car audio line-up, allows us to offer a wider range of products at almost any budget. The Tempo Ultra line integrates some of our key technologies. It fills the gap between our Virtus series and the Tempo series,” said Morel Executive VP Oren Mordechai.
The Tempo Ultra line uses large voice coil (1.5 inch for 2-way), treated paper composite cones, and a stronger magnet system for increased power handling (up to 30 percent more than the Tempo products), with lower distortion levels and improved bass response.
Morel’s soft dome tweeters, a 28mm version on the 2-way Tempo Ultra system and 25mm for the Tempo Ultra Integra, use neodymium magnets while the woofers use high grade ferrite magnets. Power handling ranges from 100 to 130 watts for the 2-way models, and 60 to 140 watts for the Integra.
Integra speakers include both a woofer and tweeter that share a common chassis. The recessed tweeter is concentrically aligned with the woofer cone, producing a constant and coherent sound field in all directions for a correct phase and improved time alignment.
The Tempo Ultra 2-way is available in 5-, 6-, 5×7- and 6×9- inches for direct fitment in many factory locations. The Tempo Ultra Integra offers the same dimensions, as well as a 4-inch driver option.
