VAN NUYS, CA–Al & Ed’s Autosound said it has enlisted sales trainer Del Ellis to provide a training session for store franchise owners and employees this March.
While Al & Ed’s holds regular training for its stores, this is one of the rare times it has invited an outside speaker, it said.

“Our stores performed very well, 2013 vs. 2012,and we want to keep the momentum going,” said Al & Ed’s Product Manager John Haynes.  “All indications are that our industry will face continuing challenges in 2014. A shrinking core business, competition with OE and the constant battle of brick & mortar vs the Internet marketplace means we have to do a better job with each and every customer,” he said, adding, “I’ve heard Del speak at Knowledgefest, and I think he can bring some insight to our employees that should have an immediate and long-lasting effect.”

Ellis will focus on training in bringing in consumers off the phone and maximizing each customer’s visit.
“As consumers turn more and more to online purchasing, all retailers are seeing declining customer counts. It’s super important to do more with each customer that visits an Al & Ed’s location, and to do a better job of getting phone inquiries to turn into face-to-face opportunities,” Haynes said.
Originally established in 1954, Al & Ed’s Autosound is a chain of franchised mobile electronics specialists serving the Southern California marketplace.
