If you love car stereo competition and would like to host events, then the dB Drag Racing Association Judges Certification is for you. The dBDRA is an international sound off organization with representation in over 40 countries. With more than 10,000 sanctioned events to date, the dBDRA is an industry leader in car stereo competition. The dBDRA has received mainstream media coverage including: Mythbusters, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Monster Garage, Animal Planet and Stan Lee’s Superhumans, just to name a few. One of the organization’s main goals is to revitalize interest in car stereo by helping retailers attract new customers and keep existing customers passionate about their sound systems.
The dBDRA will offer several training sessions throughout the U.S. and select international locations to better serve our judges. There are many advantages to earning your certification.
- Enjoy opportunities to earn extra money doing something you love. (You can become eligible to judge local, regional and national competitions, which you can arrange on your own – or possibly receive some assignments through the dBDRA.)

The purpose of the dBDRA Certification Program is to provide accuracy and consistency amongst the judges. We certify and rank dBDRA judges through training materials, an examination and on site education process. To be certified as a judge, one has demonstrated the thorough knowledge and understanding of the current dBDRA rules. They must also possess a judicial temperament, a reputation for mature judgment and have an outstanding reputation for integrity. Additional requirements include technical competence; auto sound competition experience and the ability to travel. Judges must attend a training and pass a written and practical test prior to becoming certified.

First time judges will need to attend 5 single point events, two 2X events and must have 2 judges referrals prior to becoming a 3X certified judge.
