JVC Kenwood blind spot detection at CES
JVC Kenwood showed at CES last week a prototype blind spot system using cameras instead of side mirrors.
The video feed from the cameras is displayed on two monitors located in the dashboard, on either side of the steering wheel. You get a better view of the cars around you, but JVC Kenwood has no plans to market the system at this time.
We are told that removing the side mirrors and replacing them with cameras greatly reduces drag on the car and improves gas mileage, not to mention the fact that it eliminates blind spots.
